What is Q-RIDE?

Q-RIDE is not a business, rather it is an initiative form Queensland transport to improve the quality of riders here in QLD, It is simply a means for competency based training, where ongoing  assessment is undertaken throughout your training in the course. No formal test is required if you sign up for this type of rider training, the certificate issued at the end of the course will then be exchanged for your photo license at transport.

What size bike can I ride?

For a person to progress up to an open motorcycle licence (over 250cc) you must have held a RE (250) licence for 12 months or more.

If you have not held an RE (250) licence for 12 months or more, you are only allowed to ride up to a 250cc motorbike or scooter.

You can upgrade to an R (unrestricted) licence after holding your RE for at least 12 months.
